Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with GeeksLab Technologies, New Delhi organised a two day workshop on the topic Advanced Automobile Engineering on 27 October 2018 and 28 october 2018. Mr. Mahendra Singh an experienced trainer, who worked with automobile giants like Mercedes Benz and Maruti Suzuki was the resource person.
The two day workshop focused on insights to the vehicle dynamics, suspension geometry, engine design, aerodynamics of race vehicles, forces acting on a driver, performance parameters of race vehicles, anatomy of F1 cars and Moto GP bikes, basic mechatronics and much more. Sessions included videos and problem solving. Two sessions on the second day was dedicated to practical aspects where students were given an opportunity to dismantle the engine. The parts of the dismantled engine were then explained and the engine was assembled by the students.
80 students attended the workshop, including students across all departments of our institution as well as from other engineering colleges: Canara Engineering College, St. Joseph Engineering College and Sahyadri College of Engineering.
Faculty coordinators of the event: Dr Gajanana Anne and Mr. Aditya Kudva, and student coordinatos of the event: Mr. Sudarshan M, Rakshith R, Mr Shreyas SS and Mr Anirudh Rao. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institution and Dr. Surdashan Rao K, Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering were also present and supported for the successful conduction of the workshop.
