Mathematics

Mathematics, the mother of sciences, is one of the strongest pillars that support the super structure of any engineering discipline. Mathematics, the study of quantity, structure, space and change, is used as an essential tool in natural sciences, engineering, medicine and the social sciences. The subject, which seeks to establish truth by arduous deduction, being the core foundation of the Field of Engineering, aids to build Analytical, Reasoning & Logical skills of the future Engineers and Researchers. Continuous Learning and Research activities satisfy the curiosity of students & it fulfils the objective of our department.

Department of mathematics was established in the year 2010 in order to provide the students with a strong mathematical foundation through course which cater to  the needs of mathematical applications for the students pertaining to the Engineering skills as well as research and higher education.  With its well qualified and committed faculty and innovative instructional methods, the Department of Mathematics lays a strong foundation in Engineering Mathematics in the students. The department has faculty with research interests in virtually every area of Mathematics.

The VTU approved doctoral research centre established under the department is functional with 3 candidates registered under the guidance of Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino.
