Teachers Day and Engineers Day Celebration – 2019

The Extra and Co- Curricular Committee of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management organized the Teachers’ day and Engineer’s day together on 05 September 2019.

Dr. N A Madhyastha, Former Principal, Poorna Prajna College Udupi was the Chief Guest for the event. In his address, he gave glimpses from the life of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Sir M. Visvesvaraya and how they inspire us by their eminent personality. Unriddling the importance of time to the students, he told how cell phones and other electronic gadgets are eating our time and how effectively we can use them to accomplish our work. Continuing his speech he congratulated and appreciated all the teachers for their contribution to the field of education and how the new generation of teachers need to keep inspiring students. He narrated some of the funny incidents he encountered in his teaching career.

He distributed the prizes to staff and students who participated and won in different competitions organized by the extra-curricular club of SMVITM, on account of Teachers’ Day and Independence Day

The event witnessed the unveiling of the SMVITM College Mobile App designed by the students of 3rd Year BE.

Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM, presided over the function. In his Presidential address, he spoke on the relevance of celebrating Teachers day and Engineers day in the fond memory of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan and Sir M. Visvesvaraya respectively. He recollected how they overcame their initial hurdles and achieved the career success and how they ended up receiving the prestigious Bharatha Rathna Award for their unparalleled contribution for the betterment of the society. Dr. Ganesh Aithal, Vice Principal of the college was present on the dais.

Ms. Rukmini Ballal, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering gave a brief overview of about the relevance of both Teachers’ Day and Engineer’s Day. Mr. Krishna Kumar, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Electronics and Communication introduced the Chief Guest. Mr. Karthik V, Asst. Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering welcomed the gathering and Mr. Avinash, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering proposed the vote of thanks. The program began with the invocation by Ms. Shreya Bhat and Ms. Kripashree Bhat compered the program.
