Talk on “Endurance Ultra Cycling”

The National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Rotaract Club (RC) of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, under Fit India Movement organized the Talk on “Endurance Ultra Cycling” 11 October 2019 in the college premise.

Mr. Narayan Nayak, Assistant professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVITM Bantakal was the resource person for the program. Mr. Narayan Nayak has completed India’s toughest 600km Brevet (a long distance endurance cycling competition) in 40 hours. In addition to participating in a large number of such competitions he is also an extremely enthusiastic cyclist who endows his fitness to the long distance that he has racked up on his bicycle.

In his address he has spoken on a number of salient points regarding cycling and ultra-cycling. He also guided the gathering by giving detailed information about how to face difficult situations in long endurance cycling without losing hope.  He also shared the information about how to lead a happy and quality life by maintaining the fitness of the body.

Institutional NSS/YRC/RC Coordinator Mr. Kishor Kumar Aroor and other departmental coordinators, Heads and staff members from various departments and all the office bearers of NSS/YRC and RC were present on the occasion. The program was compered by Ms. Akshatha P Upadhya.
