SMVITM Bantakal students bag SRISHTI Best Project award

Second year Mechanical Engineering students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal have won the State Level Best Project Consolation Award for the project title “Arecanut Tree Climber and Pesticide Sprayer”, in the State level Engineering Students Project Exhibition, organised by VSS Trust and Visvesvaraya Technology University Belgaum in association with Akhila Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishath and BMS college of Engineering, Bangalore on 25th July to 27th July 2022.

The project work was carried out by Mohammed Athiq, K.N. Shreesha and Rohan U Palan under the guidance of Mr. Karthik V, faculty member in the department of mechanical engineering. The students designed and developed the mechanism that will climb the arecanut tree of any size / height and spray the pesticides to protect the crop from fungus during the monsoon with considerable amount of savings in revenue and manpower. The Principal, faculty and the college Management congratulated the team for their splendid achievement.

Total 104 college teams across Karnataka state with approximately 1750 students participated in the competition. The exhibition has created a platform for the students to exhibit their hidden talents and focused on finding the solutions to the problems faced by the industry and agriculture sector. Many projects on software and hardware were also part of the exhibition. It was a great learning experience for the students.

The prize distribution was held on 27th July 2022 evening at BMS College, Bangalore. Hon Vice chancellor of VTU Belagavi, Dr.Karisiddappa was one of the guest during the prize awarding ceremony.
