Civil Engineering Department of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi in association with ISTE chapter has organized five days Online Short Term Training Program on Recent Trends in Construction Practice from 28th June 2021 to 02nd July 2021. The Short Term Training Program was organized for the benefit of faculties and research scholars from various institutions.
Dr. Raghavendra Holla, MIT, Manipal inaugurated the program and addressed the participants on Artificial Intelligence and Building Information modeling in Civil Engineering practice and motivated the students to diversify their skills in advancement. Mr. Shashi G Nayak Dubai, Director & Architect from Shristi Ventures Padubidri gave deep insights on innovative wall construction technology, which is time efficient, economical and also less impact on the environment. Dr. B B Das Associate Professor, NITK Surathkal explained the advancement in research area and explained the hydration and microstructure properties of Nanosilica admixed sustainable cementitious mortar. Recycling of construction and demolition waste and its application in various fields in construction was elaborated meticulously by Mr. Rajendra Kalabhavi, Executive Director, Dakshina Kannada Nirmithi Kendra, Surathkal. On the last day of training, Mr. Viviek Mayya, Co-partner of Samruddhi Associates Mangalore demonstrated the Low cost house construction by brick join technology and other innovative ideas were discussed during his presentation. More than 100 faculties and research scholars have participated in this event.
