“LEAD – Leadership Programme” Workshop

The department of Electronics & Communication Engineering of SMVITM Bantakal, in association with LEAD (Leaders Accelerating Development) of Deshpande Foundation Hubballi, organised a one-day workshop on “LEAD-Leadership Programme” on Saturday, 22 February 2020 in the institute premises. Ms. Anisha Cardoza, Programme Manager of LEAD, was the resource person. The students of 2nd year ECE participated in the workshop and developed their leadership skills.

Ms. Cardoza started her session by briefing about the workshop, and the benefits of LEAD programme. For the students who have ideas or who want to come up with ideas and are seeking a platform for mentorship, guidance and resources, LEAD will help them to achieve their goals and passion, and in this process the students will enhance the leadership qualities in them.

She conducted some activities that helped the students to generate innovative ideas, develop innovative approach, creative thinking, plan activities and organise guest speaker’s sessions. The activities also fostered innovation and explored the possibilities of building leadership and entrepreneurial mind-set among the students.

In the last session, Ms. Cardoza conducted community activities, team building activities, followed by the presentations by each group, and documentation processes, which was well appreciated by all the students.

Earlier, Ms. Bhoomika J. S. of 2nd year ECE introduced the resource person. Vice Principal Dr. Ganesh Aithal and Head of the department Dr. Balachandra Achar were present during the inaugural function. Senior Assistant Professors Mr. Nagaraja Rao and Mr. Ganesh Shetty coordinated the workshop.
