NSS unit of SMVITM Bantakal under the aegis of Shirva Police Station and Nagaraika Seva Samithi® held Jatha as part of Road Safety Week celebration on 01 February 2021. Mr. Shrishaila D Murugoda, PSI, Shirva Police Station inaugurated the Jatha. Students and general public march pasted from Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management Bantakal with placards showing Road Safety slogans which ended near Bantakal downtown.
In the program held thereinafter in the office of Nagaraika Seva Samithi®, PSI, Shirva inaugurated the 3 CC Camera’s implemented in Bantakal circle in view of the safety of the civilians. The program proceeded with the distribution of handbills.
PSI, Shirva Police Station talking on the importance of Road Safety with the students gathered told that students should involve in awareness Jatha’s and they should be model to the youngsters by following traffic rules and gave information about the emergency helpline number 112. He appreciated the efforts made by Nagaraika Seva Samithi®, Bantakal in implementing CC cameras.
PSI Mrs. Vedavathi and Police staff of Shirva Police Station, Faculty Coordinators of NSS-YRC-RC and students of SMVITM, Shri Ramesh Kotyan Udupi Jilla Taxi Association Secretary, Mr. Umesh Rao, President Bantakallu Rickshaw Drivers and owners association, Management members of Bantakal Temple, members of Nagaraika Seva Samithi® Bantakal were present in the program. Mr. K. R. Patkar, President, Nagaraika Seva Samithi® welcomed, Shri Dinesh Devadiga, Secretary of Samithi compered the program.
