GUEST TALK ON “SWASTHYA SANKALPA PROGRAMME”

Women Empowerment Cell of SMVITM, in association with Shri Dharmasthala Gramabhivruddhi Yojane, Udupi organized a guest talk on Swasthya Sankalpa programme at the institute premises on 20 October 2015.

Mr. Devadas Hebbar, Ex-President, Akhila Karnataka Jana Jagrathi Vedike, Udupi and Ms. Sowjanya, Administrative Officer of Dr. A. V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, Udupi, delivered talks during the programme.

The highlights of Mr. Hebbar’s talk included unhealthy habits and how to kick them, alcoholic addiction, road safety. He also explained how awareness programmes and de-addiction camps would help alcoholics to save themselves from the clutches of alcoholism and other forms of substance abuse.

Ms. Sowjanya, in her talk, she stressed on the importance of health and gave some tips and guidelines on health, how to protect oneself from various diseases.

Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal; Prof. Dr. A. Ganesha, Dean (Academics); Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino – WEC Committee Coordinator, Mr. Nagaraj Rao – NSS Programme Officer, Mr. Kishore Kumar Aroor – Rotaract Club Coordinator, Ms. Uma U. and Ms. Geetha N. of Shri Dharmasthala Gramabhivrudhi Yojane were present on the occasion. Nearly 200 students of SMVITM attended the programme. Mr. Arun H. R. welcomed the gathering. Mr. Vasanth Pai proposed the vote of thanks and Ms. Nishmitha Y. R. compeered the programme.
