The Graduation Ceremony for the seventh outgoing batch of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi, was held in the institute premises on Sunday, 13th December, 2020.
Mr Paneesh Rao, Chief People Officer, Mindtree, Bangalore Urban was the chief guest and delivered the graduation day address. He provided insights to the students from the perspective of a recruiter. He informed the graduates that in the corporate world, students are recruited more on the basis of their attitude, rather than their skills and knowledge. He said that skills and knowledge can be learnt, but attitude is something that we are born with.
Shri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swamiji of Sode Vadiraja Mata handed over the gold medals for the branch toppers. Mr Nagarjuna S G of Civil Engineering department, Ms Vidisha P Shet of Computer Science and Engineering, Ms Thejashree of Electronics and Communications Engineering and Mr Deepak Achar of Mechanical Engineering won gold medals for their splendid academic performance. Mr. Shreyas Prabhu and Ms. Rushali Naik received “Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Prashasti“ from revered Swamiji for their outstanding performance.
Principal Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat welcomed the gathering. Shri Ratnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET, appreciated the efforts of the students even during the COVID-19 pandemic, and encouraged them for their careers.
In his presidential address, Shri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swamiji congratulated the students and wished them luck for their futures.
HoDs of engineering branches presented the graduates list. Dr. Sudarshan Rao, Dean Quality Assurance, announced the names of branch toppers. Dr. Reena Kumari, Head, Dept. of Chemistry introduced the guest. The Vice Principal, Dr. Ganesh Aithal, administered the Oath for the seventh outgoing batch of graduates.
Dr. Lilita Priya Castelino, HOD of Dept. of Mathematics delivered vote of thanks. The event was compered by Ms. Sneha Josvita D’souza from the Department of English and Ms. Renita Sharon Monis from the Department of Mathematics.
The entire program was conducted with strict adherence to MHA and VTU Guidelines. Adequate social distancing and use of sanitizers and masks were ensured at all times.
