Jasmine finds a special place in all religious and other functions in the coastal region of Karnataka. The mass production of this flower takes place around villages near Shankarapura of Udupi district and hence named after the village name. On daily basis price of the Jasmine is decided at shankarpura depending on availability and demand for the flowers. It is bitter truth that, the quantity of flower bought outside Shankarapura  is less than that of at Shankarapura. Also price is more. Hence the buyer will be under loss. Same is the case with farmers why sell Jasmine. The mediators get the highest benefit in this entire process. To overcome these issues, an Android App has been developed by Mr. Abhidev V, Mr. Deepith, Mr. Jithesh Shenoy and Mr. Mohammed Sahil under the guidance of Mr. Venugopala Rao  A S,  have developed an android based mobile application which can be used by customers to book Jasmine. Customers can book the Jasmine online through this app. Farmers may either deliver the flowers to the designated place by the customer or set up their own outlets where quantity of the Jasmine is as same as that of Shankarpura. This would certainly avoid the intervention of the mediators and thereby contribute to the increased profit by the farmers.
