Computer Network Awareness Program

Department of Computer Science and Engineering of SMVITM, Bantakal organized a one-day Computer Network Awareness Program, for the Students of Computer Science stream of Indira Shiva Rao Polytechnic, on 13 September 2019 in the department Premise. As part of the program sixteen students along with two staff members visited the campus.

The first session was by the Assistant Professor, Mr. Manoj T. where he gave an introduction to computer network and briefed various topologies and components used in the formation of a computer networks. Dr. Vasudeva, Head of department addressed the students and explained the need of computer networks and also briefed various aspects of data analytics and social media analysis. Post lunch Mr. Suresh Rao, System Analyst and Mr. Shashidhar Pai, Lab technician demonstrated the configuration of Operating Systems, Servers, network topologies and other networking devices. In the last session Assistant Professor, Mr. Deepak Rao M, gave a brief introduction to internet of things and demonstrated the usage of network simulator NS2 and python programming language and concluded this one-day event.
