AVISHKAR 2K19- INTERCOLLEGIATE SCIENCE FEST FOR P. U. COLLEGE STUDENTS

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology& Management (SMVITM),Bantakal, under the aegis of the Student Chapter of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) organized Avishkar 2K19,  the sixth edition of annual intercollegiate science Fest for Pre University College students of the Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamangaluru and Kodagu districts at the institute premises on 29 November 2019. More than 200 students participated in science quiz,  science model exhibition and group dance events.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. A P Bhat, Retd. Professor, PPC –Udupi and Shri Rathnakumar, Secretary, SSVMET.

The valedictory program and prize distribution ceremony was held in the evening. The chief guest Dr. A P Bhat asked the students to learn from nature to build the science models. Mrs. Niveditha, Deputy Director, ISRO was another guest for the valedictory program. Mrs. Niveditha appreciated the effort of the institute to connect the academics with industry and innovation by arranging the programs like Avishkar.  MES Chaitanya PU College, Sirsi won the overall championship and Excellent PU College Koteshwara won the runner-up trophy.

 Shri Rathnakumar, Secretary who was present on the dais requested the students to think beyond just getting the jobs after their education. H H Vishwa Vallabha Teertha Swamiji in his presidential address informed the students to strengthen Make-in-India model and thereby making Inida Vishwaguru in the world.

Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, welcomed the gathering and Mr. Venugopal Rao, Coordinator of the program proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Sowmya S and Mr. Karthik V introduced the guests. Ms. Shareen Noronha announced the prize winner list. Ms.Sneha D’souza compered the program.
