Webinar Series  on “Application of Mathematics in Engineering- Recent Trends”

The department of Mathematics in association with the faculty chapter of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal organised a webinar series with the title “Application of Mathematics in Engineering- Recent Trends” starting from 21 November 2020 to 19 December 2020, every Saturday from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm for the faculty members and research scholars of various institutions through google meet.

Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino inaugurated the event on 21-11-2020 with the introductory remarks.

Dr. Vasudeva, Professor and Dean R&C of SMVITM, Dr.B.R. Shankar, Professor, NITK, Surathkal, Dr. Santhosh George, Professor, NITK, Surathkal, Dr. Rituparna Sen, Associate Professor, ISI Bengaluru, Dr. Jidesh P, Assistant   Professor, NITK, Surathkal were the different resource persons who addressed the participants on the recent trends in Mathematics and its applications.

The programme helped in enhancing the knowledge of around 100 enthusiastic participants in the field of Mathematics. The programme was beneficial to the Faculty members and Research Scholars who intend to practice/begin research in the field of Number Theory, Linear Algebra, Functional Analysis, Statistical engineering and Principal component and its applications etc.

The valedictory session of the webinar series was held on 19-12-2020 with the concluding remarks delivered by Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino, HOD of Mathematics, SMVITM, Bantakal.

Ms. Dhanyashree Vinay, the faculty coordinator for the event, Ms. Renita Sharon Monis, ISTE Coordinator, Ms. Bhagyalaxmi Navada and Ms. Nisha Reena Nazareth, faculty members from the Department of Mathematics helped in the smooth conduction of the programme.
