Student Council

The aim of the SMVITM Counselling Cell – Aasare, is to strengthen the emotional and mental quotient of the students – right from the time of entry till the last day of campus life. Students need to be sensitized, motivated and encouraged to understand themselves better, be prepared to face daily life challenges and ensure that their future is also bright with a good self-confidence to contribute positively to society as responsible adults.

The adults on the other hand – who include the faculty, staff and parents also need some handholding and guidance to up-skill themselves to understand the behaviour of the stormy adolescent years of the students and gently and surely guide them with patience, understanding and an effective support system. The working faculty and staff also need to handle their professional and personal lives and have a work-life balance for becoming productive and purposeful in their environment. Hence, the need to create awareness of new skills that need to be understood and implemented to be better facilitators to the physical and mental growth of the students and for themselves to be happy and productive.

The Council shall undertake the following duties and responsibilities of:

• Assisting in curbing the menace of ragging in the campus.
• Maintaining harmony and conducive academic environment in the Institute /campus.
• Improving faculty- staff- student interrelations.
• Supporting the Institute, management in all developmental activities and redressal of student grievances.
