Parent Teacher Association

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal organized Parent – Teacher meet at the institute premises on 23rd November 2024. The major objective of the program was to make the parents aware of the academic aspects of the B. E. course, to make them aware of the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensure parental participation in monitoring the performance of the students and contributing to the overall growth of a student by guiding and supporting them. Dr. C. K. Manjunath, head of Training and Placement, SMVITM spoke on Nurturing Success: The Role of Parenting in Shaping Responsible and Resilient Engineering Students. He gave a detailed report on placement facilities provided by the college. He advised students to prepare properly for the placement.

The Parent-Teacher Association has a prominent role in aiding smooth functioning of the college. All parents/guardians of the students on the roles of the college are members of the association. It is compulsory for a parent/guardian to be a member of the PTA. The main objectives of the association are

  • To foster and promote good relationship among the members of the staff, students and parents of students.
  • To work for the welfare of the students and of the institution and to offer constructive suggestions for the smooth and successful functioning of the college.
  • To promote better participation of the parents in  various programs of the college and to establish better liaison with teachers.
  • To create in its members a keen interest for the smooth working and the progress of the college and for maintaining good discipline and high academic standards.

  • Secretary would call for a meeting of the PTA faculty members in the beginning of the academic year and plan for all the meetings to be held in an academic year.
  • He/She prepares the meeting notices and takes approval of the Principal and dispatches to the parents and teachers.
  • Actively participate in regularly scheduled committee meetings. Read any material distributed prior to the meetings. Contribute to discussions and support decisions that are arrived at by the committee.
  • Prepare the minutes of the meeting and circulate same to all committee members.
  • Collecting feedback from parents related to curriculum.
  • The parents of the students whose performance in the continuous assessment test is poor are apprised of the consequences. The parents are also requested to advise their wards and take effective measures to improve their performances in the ensuing examinations.
  • Also TG/FA with the support of the faculty will put efforts to see that the performance of the wards improve.
