In Fond Memories of Ever Revered Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam….

Bharat Ratna Dr.Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, an ideal Visionary, a great creative Leader, a role model Teacher, world renowned Scientist & Technologist; yet, a simple, noble, gentle Son of INDIA  is physically no more but will be there in the hearts of our countrymen for ever!

Every responsible citizen of India knows Dr.Kalam and his sublime ideals. Students, right from primary level to university level, have great admiration and know about Dr.Kalam better than anyone else in this country. He acquired a permanent seat in the hearts of our flourishing children, the future builders of our nation, the future rays of hope for Mother India!

SMVITM, Bantakal was really fortunate to have such a great leader & mentor in its campus on 02 April 2014! He came to enlighten & enrich the knowledge of students, to inspire & ignite them towards true patriotism and went with a deep sense of satisfaction & sweet memories!  Our budding institution and blossoming children are ever grateful to SirKalamji.

His Guiding Principles and Invaluable Messages to budding engineers, shared during his memorable visit to SMVITM, Bantakal, are worth remembering and emulating. Eight Point Oath for Engineering Students, what Dr.Kalamji preached & practiced throughout his sparkling life, are as follows:

1. Engineering and Technology is a life time mission. I will work, work and work and succeed.
2. Wherever I am, a thought will always come to my mind: That is “what process or product I can innovate, invent or discover”.
3. I will always remember that “Let not my winged days, be spent in vain”.
4. I realize I have to set a great technological goal that will lead me to think high, work and persevere to realize that goal.
5. My greatest friends will be great scientific and technological minds, good teachers and good books.
6. I firmly believe that no problem can defeat me; I will become the captain of the problem, defeat the problem and succeed.
7. I will work and work for removing the problems faced by planet earth in the areas of water, energy, habitat, waste management and environment through the application of science and technology.
8. “My National Flag flies in my heart and I will bring glory to my nation”.

Let us together pledge to join hands in realising / materialising his dream of “Transforming India into a Developed Nation by 2020”, which we feel, a true HOMAGE to the great departed soul.
