REPORT ON WORLD RED CROSS DAY OBSERVANCE.

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) wing of SMVITM organised a program as part of the World Red Cross Day observance at the institute premises on 09 May 2015. Shri Basrur Rajeev Shetty, Chairman of the Udupi district and the Karnataka State units of Red Cross India was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address to the gathering, consisted mainly of the members of the YRC wing of the institute, Mr. Shetty briefed about the Red Cross Day and its significance. He also mentioned that important activities like first aid training, disaster management etc. could be taken up by the wing. Principal of the institute, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, in his presidential address, appreciated the work carried out by NSS-YRC student volunteers in the past and said that he wanted to see more of such activities carried out by the units in the future too. Prof. Dr. A Ganesha, Dean (Academics) was present. Mr. Nagaraja Rao, YRC Programme Officer welcomed the gathering and Mr. Madhusoodhan Rao proposed a vote of thanks. Ms. Devika Lakshmeesha, President, NSS-YRC presented the annual report of NSS-YRC for the academic year 2014-15 and Mr. Amrurthesh introduced the chief guest.
