Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM) Bantakal has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with premier electronics industry, Advanced Electronic Systems (ALS) Bengaluru on 30 March 2015 at the institute premises. As per the MoU, both SMVITM and ALS have agreed to work together to provide hands-on training to the interested faculty and students of the institute on topics related to Embedded and VLSI Systems. ALS has agreed to provide internship facilities for the students, and has assured continued assistance to the institute in organizing industrial tours, workshops and placements. H. H. Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council signed the MoU on behalf of SMVITM. Mr. Sunil T Shambhatnavar, General Manager of ALS signed on behalf of the industry. In his address, Mr. Sunil stressed the need for project-based learning environment in engineering institutions for nurturing the creativity of the students, leading to innovation and better understanding of the subject. Sri Rathnakumar, Secretary, Sri Raghavendra Tantri, Management Representative, Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S Aithal, Principal, Prof. Dr. A Ganesha, Dean Academics, and HODs of various departments were present during the occasion. Prof. Dr. Balachandra Achar, HOD of E&C Engineering welcomed the gathering and explained the terms of the MoU. Mr. Nagaraja Rao, Senior Assistant Professor, E&C Engg, proposed the vote of thanks.
