REPORT ON GRADUATION DAY

Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal organized its first graduation day ceremony at the institute premises on 2 November 2014.  Graduates who passed out during the academic year 2013 -14 received their graduation certificates from the chief guest, former Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court and former Governor of Bihar and Jharkhand Dr. Rama Jois, Rajya Sabha MP.

In his address to the graduates, Dr. Jois, quoting profusely from the ancient texts of India, said that providing education is a pious obligation and when one was internally and externally clean, everything would be alright with the world. He lamented the fact that because of the impact of the colonization of the country by the west and the westernized education, Indians often forgot the ethically rich rules and laws and the ancient wisdom of the country. He emphasized the need to control and overcome one’s desires and to perpetuate dharma by sticking a balance between one’s rights and duties.

H. H. Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, President, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), who presided over the ceremony, presented gold medals to the branch toppers and the institutional merit-cum-means scholarships to academically bright but financially weak students on the occasion.  In his presidential address, he congratulated the graduates on becoming professionals and urged them to do justice to their profession.

Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, Principal administered the institutional oath to the graduates and in his address said that the fresh graduates are the brand ambassadors of the institute and urged them to know the technological world in real time and help the present  students of   the institute in finding training and placement.

Sri Shrinivasa Tantry, Vice president, SSVMET; Dr. A. Ganesha, Dean (Academics); Heads of the Departments, Adjunct faculty members and Members of SSVMET were present. Mr. Venugopala Rao, Asst. Professor welcomed the gathering and Dr. Lolita Priya Castelino, Head of the Department of Mathematics proposed the vote of thanks.
