Today marks the realization of a dream sparked 15 years ago as we proudly inaugurate the Department of Business Administration at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM). This momentous occasion stands as a testament to the visionary suggestion made by Dr. V L S Acharya in 2005-06 during the inauguration of the Inanje School, which planted the seed for this remarkable venture.

In his inaugural address, the revered Swamiji of Sode Mutt, Shri Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji, emphasized the importance of individuals forging their own paths, embracing entrepreneurship, and upholding values as they navigate their professional journeys. He highlighted the pressing need for a new generation equipped not only with academic excellence but also with an entrepreneurial spirit to drive meaningful change.

Our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Gururaj H Kidiyoor, Director of Justice KS Hegde Institute of Management, Nitte, shed light on the evolving management landscape in India. He underscored the growing demand for skilled managers in a nation where the median age is approximately 30 years. With India’s ambitious goal of reaching a 5 trillion dollar GDP economy, as set forth by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Kidiyoor emphasized the pivotal role MBA graduates will play in shaping the nation’s economic trajectory. However, Dr. Kidiyoor cautioned against viewing an MBA degree merely as a qualification, stressing instead the importance of grasping the intricate dynamics of businesses.
