Computer Science and Engineering Department in association with ISTE cell conducted the Peer Learning Workshop on “Android Application Development” on 21st and 22nd November 2022 from 10.00 AM to 4.30 PM at Lab CC3, 3rd Floor, Admin Block, SMVITM.
Dr. Sowmya J Bhat, HOD of CSE gave the inaugural address. She spoke about the significance of the peer learning session and gave insights on the importance of the topic for the creation of a good Android Application. Students from 7th semester CSE namely Ms. Shrutha V. Bhat, Mr. Vikram G Thunga, Mr. Vishwas Prabhu and Mr. Yajnesh, were the resource persons for the event. They gave the participants significant insights on the basics of Android application development, Hands-on experience on layouts, navigation, connection to internet, data persistence, work manger and much more. They also taught the participants about the purpose of using XML, Java various features that are available in Android Studio, and gave some essential tips and tricks to code quickly and efficiently. They also described the project that the participants would finally be able to build after learning about the topic. Mr. Thejas S S, Student from 7th semester CSE was the Master of Ceremony.
Mr. Raghavendra Hegde, Assistant Professor, Department of CSE gave the introduction about the objectives of the workshop. Mr. Kartik Shanbhag, Student, 5th semester CSE gave the vote of thanks. Mr. Sujith Prabhu, Mr. Thejas S S, Mr. Sampath Kumar M G and Ms. Shreeraksha, Students, 7th semester CSE were coordinated as volunteers for the smooth conduction of the event.
