National Conference on “Advances in Civil Engineering-2021”

Civil Engineering Department of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi in association with ICI chapter has organized two days virtual National conference on Advances in Civil Engineering (ACE-2021) from 05^th July 2021to 06^th July 2021 for Faculties, Research scholar from various institution and Students.

Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, inaugurated the program and addressed the participants on Advances in Civil Engineering practice and motivated the participants to diversify their skills in advancement. Dr. Sandeep Nayak, HOD, Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering. And Ms. Deepika B V briefed the conference.

The inaugural function was followed by a keynote address on “Recent trends in Civil Engineering” by Prof. Shantharam, Principal GPK Karwar. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shantharam, appreciated the efforts of the institute for having organized this type conference which is very much relevant in the fast-growing science and technology. He gave insights on Recent trends in Civil engineering, and elucidated importance of new technologies to the mankind. More than 19 research papers were presented virtually by researchers, academicians and students across the state.

On Day-2 Er. Anirudh Rao Managing director, Projectile consultants Pvt. Ltd Mangaluru. delivered a Key note session. On “Digital construction technology” in which he elucidated New age construction advancement, Robotics and AI in construction and its application and innovative ideas were discussed during his presentation. There are so many opportunities in these areas to develop newer technologies. He also stressed the importance of taking forward the student projects and academic research works into innovations.

Dr. ESTR Chandrashekhar Bhojaraju, Associate professor, Department of Civil Engineering SJEC, Mangaluru and Dr. Udayprasanna from SMVITM, were the session chairs for the two day program

Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, Dr. Ganesh Aithal, Vice Principal, Dr. Sandeep J Nayak, HoD were present on the occasion. Ms. Deepika B V and Mr. Sunil Haldankar Coordinated the program, Students of Civil Engineering department compeered the program. More than 80 faculties and research scholars have participated in this event.
