Workshop on Fundamentals of C Programming Language

The department of Computer Science and Engineering in coordination with the Technical Committee had organized a workshop on “Fundamentals of C” on the institute premises for the second year student community of the department of Computer Science and Engineering, SMVITM, Bantakal.

The workshop was conducted for five days from 9.30 AM to 12.30 PM every day. The various topics were covered by our eminent faculty fraternity. On the first of the workshop, Mr. Siju V Soman, Assistant Professor (Sr.) and Ms. Deepthi G Pai, Assistant Professor of Dept. of CSE had explained the basics of C language. On Day 2 of the workshop, Dr. Nagaraj Bhat, Associate Professor and HOD along with Mrs. Rukmini Bhat, Assistant Professor (Sr.), Dept. of CSE explained the control statements and arrays with hands-on. Day 3 was engaged by Mrs. Harshitha G M, Assistant Professor, Dept. of CSE on String handling and functions in C with hands-on. Day 4 has been engaged by Mrs. Sowmya and Ms. Ramyashree, Assistant Professor in the department of CSE spoke about pointers, structures and unions in C. They also gave students a few programming exercises to solve in the session. Day 5 is taken by Dr. Raghavendra S, Associate Professor and Mrs. Savitha Shenoy, Assistant Professor (Sr.) and they spoke on dynamic memory allocation with few programming examples.

The last day of the workshop had a test for the students who were attended all the sessions which had four programming exercises and the students had attempted to those programming exercises. Mr. Shrinivasa and Mr. Manjunatha A S, Assistant Professor (Sr.), Dept. of CSE, SMVITM, Bantakal had organized this workshop. The workshop had ended with knowledge on the fundamentals of C language which will be helpful for higher semesters and placement activities for the students.
