Webinar series on ‘Advanced Areas of Mechanical Engineering’

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMVITM, Bantakal in association with ISTE Student Chapter organized a webinar series on ‘Advanced Areas of Mechanical Engineering’ for the benefit of interested students on various days from various eminent speakers.

Mr. Rangarao Desai, A Kannadiga and Team Leader in Robert Bosch, Ltda, Brazil was the resource person for the two days. On 19th November 2020 Mr. Desai addressed the students on the theme ‘Inspiring Young Indians Through Experience’. During his talk Mr. Desai explained the way by which the weakness can be identified and can overcome the same with a simple example. The students are motivated by the Speaker to participate in all types of activities along with their academic activities which makes them a good human and removes their fear. The session was attended by 35 participants and are found interactive throughout the session.

On 25th November 2020, speaker had another session on ‘Overview of Manufacturing Process and Project Management’. The session addressed the basics of manufacturing processes by giving simple and understandable practical examples. Mr. Desai connected various day-to-day activities as examples to explain the concepts of manufacturing process selection. He also explained various related concepts of manufacturing process cycle such as failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA). At the outset the talk enlightened students with overviews of manufacturing process with simple examples.
