Technical webinar on “Conduction of quantitative research leading to a research article”

The department of Civil Engineering, Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management in association with The Faculty Chapter of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Research cell of the institute organized a technical webinar on “Conduction of quantitative research leading to a research article” by Dr. Roshan Joy Martis, Associate Professor, GAT Bangalore on 11th November 2020. 

Dr. Martis explained the detailed procedure involved in the conduction of research by illustrating his thesis work at IIT Kharagpur in the area of biomedical signal processing. Later he described the various steps involved in the qualitative research article writing and publication in the various reputed journals. He also elaborated on the choosing of research topic on social and environmental aspect, extraction of literatures from various sources, combination of keyword in different search engines, abstract framing for computational research and experimental research. He also laid emphasis on understanding strengths and weaknesses of paper are paramount in publishing the same in good journals. 

More than 50 faculty members from different branches have attended this webinar. Program was coordinated and moderated by Mr. Sooraj Kumar, Assistant Professor & ISTE Secretary, Civil Engineering department with the guidance of Dr. Sandeep Nayak, HoD, Civil Engineering department. Ms. Shashikala, Senior Assistant Professor, E&C department welcomed and Mr. Rohith Prakash Veigas introduced the guest. Dr. Vasudeva, Dean (Research and consultancy), SMVITM proposed the vote of thanks.
