Value-Added Course on Power Electronics

The department of E&C Engineering conducted a 30-hour value-added course titled “Introduction to Power Electronics using Hardware and Pspice” during the months of March & April 2019. Faculty members Mr. Sandesh Kumar, Mr. Sachin Prabhu, Ms. Shareen Noronha, Ms. Laxmi Shetty, Mr. Ranjith Bhat and Ms. Renita Pinto were the resource persons. Students of 4th year E&C Engineering participated in the course and enriched their theoretical and practical knowledge about the subject. Power electronic devices such as DIAC, TRIAC, SCR, MOSFET, IGBT, design of converters, triggering circuits, inverters, rectifiers, choppers, etc., laboratory experiments and simulation experiments were conducted during the course.
