Industrial visit by Final year Computer Science students

The department of Computer Science & Engineering in association with ISTE Student Chapter and EDC of SMVITM organized a three day industrial tour for final year students to Mysuru and Hassan from 28 to 30 April 2019.

As part of this industrial tour they visited prominent organization like Infosys Limited, Mysore, Skanray Technologies Ltd, Mysore and Master Control Facility of Indian Space research Organization (ISRO), Hassan. At Infosys, Mysuru, students visited various facilities and gained a lot of inputs on corporate life by their interaction with the employees at Infosys. During their visit to Skanray Technologies, Mysuru the students interacted with Mr. Vishwaprasad Alva, MD of the company and visited the production unit of various X-Ray based products and other healthcare related product of the company. In MCF, Hassan students were given a brief introduction on India’s Space program and the role of MCF in monitoring the Satellites. Later an elaborated video was shown explaining various work done at the MCF and also on the progress achieved by ISRO in the Past 50 years.

Totally 37 Students had a good learning experience in these three days and it really benefited them to understand the work culture in an organization and their role as a future technocrat contributing for the development of the nation. Mr. Deepak Rao and Ms. Ramyashree, the faculty members of the department accompanied the students.
