Central Library of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal in association with VTU E-Consortium arranged a awareness talk on “ASCE and Its Uses” for the benefit of faculty and students.
The resource person for the day was Mr. Girish Kulkarni, Sales and Training Manager- ASCE, New Delhi, gave insights about the discovery and access to scientific and technical content published by the ASCE and its publishing partners. It was mentioned that the content in ASCE comprises of more than 38 journals, 384 books, 664 proceedings, 126 technical standards related to Civil Engineering. New documents are added to ASCE each month. New features incorporated in the ASCE which is designed for quick navigation and discovery, the new features in the ASCE digital library help to find content. Easy-to-use discovery and search tools, remote access functionality, and other useful features have been incorporated into this powerful interface. Access to full-text documents in ASCE that can be obtained from a broad range of institutional subscription options, Exclusive subscriptions available to ASCE members and ASCE society members. ASCE builds technical skills, professional knowledge, and leadership knowledge while supporting the environment, sustainability and infrastructure.
Earlier, Ms. Rajani Chavan, Dept. of Civil Engineering welcomed the gathering, Ms. Ramya Jyoshtna Dept. Of Civil Engineering introduced the guest to the audience. Mr. Nagaraja Rao, Coordinator for Library Committee, Ms. Usha Kulal, Librarian and Library staff members were present during the occasion. A total of 102 members including faculty and students were present and get benefited from the programme.
