Bots n codes workshop

The ISTE Student Chapter of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), in association with Innovation club has organized a One Day Workshop cum Competition on Bots and codes on 28 September 2014 for 56 students of SMVITM. The main objective of this programme was to inculcate the spirit of learning among the students and to incite interest regarding the much required technology of the day- Robotics.

The organizers/resource persons were the students of SMVITM, and they are NikhilAcharya, Vignesh D Pai, Sumanth Kumar M, ShettyPritamPradeep, BilalAsadi, Rayan Christ D’souza, Rao Prabhakar Bhaskar, Fervez Jaffer B M and Vishweshwar Sharma. Nikil Acharaya was the resource person, Rayan Christ D’souza explained the usage of Arduino Board, creating the robots, and rest of the team conducted the hands on session on robotics. After completing hands-on session, to check the creativity of the students and effectiveness of workshop a competition was conducted on robotics for the participants.

The participants where they were provided with the robots and they had to write codes for an efficient ‘Black line following’ robot. The winners were decided upon 2 grounds, one- the fastest to finish and two- the robot should be working very accurate(high precision).
