Technical Lecture On Coping with Water Scarcity “and “Pile Foundations”

“Prakriti” ECO Club And Co-Curricular Committee of SMVITM in association with Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (I) – Mangalore Centre & ACC Limited organized Technical Talks on the eve of Engineer’s Week-2014 “Coping with Water Scarcity” by Prof. Dr. M K Nagaraj Professor, Former Head, Dept. of Applied Mechanics, NITK-Surathkal & “Pile Foundations” by Er. ArunaPrabha, Practicing Civil Engineer, Mangalore on Friday, 21 March 2014, at 02.15 PM.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, Principal SMVITM; Prof. Dr. A Ganesha, Dean (Academics); Mr. Sunil Haldankar, Coordinator of Prakriti; HODs, members of faculty staff and many students attended the program.

The Resource person Prof. Dr. M K Nagaraj spoke about Hydrological Cycle and Supply Enhancement and He also elucidated the water supply demand and measures to mitigate the use of water and daily consumption of water for the different use purposes. Er. ArunaPrabha gave insight about ““Pile Foundations””. In that he explained the pile foundation techniques, different types of foundations and tests on piles.
