Entrepreneurship for Students

Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM) Bantakal, in association with Computer Science Department organized a Activity on Management and Entrepreneurship for students

“Thinker…Doer…Entrepreneur???” for pre-final year students of the department of Computer Science & Engineering at the institute premises on 09 November 2017

Mr. B N Ramachandra, Assistant Professor, of Computer Science and Engineering department welcomed the gathering. Dr. Vasudeva, Head of Department, Computer Science and Engineering addressed the gathered students and highlighted briefly about the importance of Entrepreneurship and all its pros in a crispy way. He motivated the students to come up with some useful & beneficial feasible projects in upcoming days..

To start with, “Mix and Match!” – An Entrepreneurial activity motivated the students to come up with some new & innovative products by mixing up the functionality of two different products and combining them to form a new product. Four teams of students came up with few creative ideas which were impressive.

“Earn Rs.100!” was a ‘real world scenario’ activity wherein the students had to earn Rs. 100 on their own by involving themselves in some genuine hardships &creative works. Around 10 students who earned more than Rs.100 and few more than Rs.500 – presented & elaborated the phenomenon of their money earning task and justified their ground work along with some interesting pictures and short videos which supported the same.

Quiz competition was held as a part of the event, where audio/visuals were displayed highlighting the relevance of entrepreneurship, and threw a lime light on information about the life of famous entrepreneurs.

“Advertise me!“- Another activity was conducted, in which students had to advertise a set of variety of consumer products which were displayed to them. Students had to prepare jingles to advertise those products & had to market them, which they ultimately did in a very creative style.

“Lemonize!” – the last activity involved many students in participation,where they prepared lemon juice along with necessary ingredients provided and sold the same to the audience and earned satisfactory amount of money – which ultimately is marked as the trait of an successful Entrepreneur.

Also, adjunct faculty Mr. Chandrashekar Rao Kuthyar graced the event & gave some important tips to the budding entrepreneurs and engaged the students with some interesting Entrepreneurial activities.

At the end, Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal, SMVITM, Bantakal addressed the gathering and elaborated the course of Entrepreneurship and said why it was the need of the hour. His presence motivated the students who were gathered with enthusiasm. Ms. Anujna Rao, Assistant professor, CSE department proposed the vote of thanks
