The alumni interaction activity by Mr. Karthik Bhat (2014-2018 CSE Batch) was arranged by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Alumni Cell, on 06 October, 2018. The students of final year of CSE department were the beneficiary of this program. The program was conducted in the admin block seminar hall.
Mr. Karthik Bhat is currently working as an Engineer in Mindtree, Bengaluru. Speaker started the session by introducing himself, later continued explaining about his current job profile and various levels in it and how each profile level is different from one another. Mr. Karthik also explained about various tools, languages and necessary frameworks that he worked on and importance of it in the project.
Later Mr. Karthik shared his preparation for placement and selection procedure through AMCAT exam. Also he shared his experience about interview process by Mindtree and how well to prepare for any of the companies. Based on his experience of attending few campus placements, Mr. Karthik gave suggestions on which topics and areas of subjects to concentrate well to get more chance in being selected.
Speaker shared his journey right from preparing for AMCAT exam, attending various interview, his experience in Mindtree selection and training process. He also mentioned about the importance of using online technical forums/blogs/websites like Stackoverflow/Hackerrank etc. well for improving the technical skills. Queries of the students were answered by the speaker at the end of the session.
Ms. Tejaswini H. welcomed the gathering and introduced speaker to the audience. Dr. Vasudeva, HOD, Department of CSE thanked and presented the memento to the Guest speaker. Ms. Anujna Rao delivered vote of thanks. Ms. Tejaswini H and Ms. Anujna Rao, Assistant professors and Department Alumni coordinators, Department of CSE, coordinated the event.
