Central Library and IEEE student Branch of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal arranged a awareness talk on “Effective utilization of IEEE-Xplore Less Search, More Research” for the benefit of faculty and students on 29 September 2018 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The resource person for the day was Mr.M.S.Srinivas, Training Manager, EBSCO, Bengaluru, gave insights about the discovery and access to scientific and technical content published by the IEEE and its publishing partners. It was mentioned that the content in IEEE Xplore comprises of more than 195 journals, 1,800 conferences, 6,200 technical standards, 425 educational courses & Approximately 2,400 books. Approximately 20,000 new documents are added to IEEE Xplore each month. New features incorporated in the IEEE Xplore which is designed for quick navigation and discovery, the new features in the IEEE Xplore digital library help to find content. Easy-to-use discovery and search tools, remote access functionality, and other useful features have been incorporated into this powerful interface. Access to full-text documents in IEEE Xplore that can be obtained from a broad range of institutional subscription options, Exclusive subscriptions available to IEEE members and IEEE society members and Online purchase of individual documents (at discounted prices for IEEE members were mentioned.
Earlier, Ms. Jyothi Kamath, Dept. of ECE welcomed the gathering, Ms.Lavanya Dept.of CSE introduced the guest to the audience. Mr.Nagaraja Rao, Coordinator for Library Committee, Ms.Usha Kulal,Librarian, Mr.Rajesh Nayak, Ms.Sowmya S, Dept.coordinators from ECE and CSE respectively were present during the occasion. A total of 120 members including faculty and students were present and get benefited.
