Eco Club

Eco club is responsible for managing green activities, such as growing trees, pollution reduction, plastic reduction and cleaning-up drives. It also beautifies road side areas with plants and flowers and put campaign boards to generate awareness. Eco Club at SMVITM plays an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generations. It is a platform where we get knowledge about environment enabling students to be sensitive towards environmental problems. The club promotes and motivates students on how to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation.

Mission

To sensitize, influence and support communities to protect the natural heritage of the society and to ensure that natural resources are judiciously utilized for an ecologically sustainable future.

ECO Club enables the students to be sensitive towards environmental concern to tackle environmental problems with the following objectives

  • To spread awareness about environmental pollution and to reduce pollution in the college campus.
  • To promotes environmental stewardship through the application of sustainable and energy efficient technologies to reduce energy consumption.
  • To create awarenessof biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues among the students.
  • Advising Students of the College as well as localities by conducting rallies, human chains, skit etc.

  • Encouraging students to keep environment clean.
  • Sensitize the students to minimize the use of polluting products.
  • To motivate students to work in an environment friendly manner
  • To make students understand the importance of environment and its problem areas and to encourage to use alternative energy systems.
  • To involve students in action based programs related to various problems prevailing in their surrounding
  • prepare and organize students’ participation for preservation and conservation of environment
