Technical talk on “Automation”

The department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with ISTE Student Chapter of SMVITM, conducted a Technical Talk on “Automation”, on 27 March 2017 in the college premises. Mr.Ravindra from Sugama Automation, Bengaluru was a resource person. Interested students of ME branch were participated.

Automation is an Integration of Mechanical, Electrical and Computers for operating machineries and equipments for the production. Automation helps to monitor the motions of tools for the industrial and factory applications such as assembly, painting, machining and etc.

The talk was focused on Automation and its types such as Flexible, Programmable and Fixed automation with various examples. Also Mr.Ravindra explained various control systems of automation.

Prof. Dr. Sudarshan Rao K, Head of Mechanical Engineering Department SMVITM, welcomed the resource person. Heads of various departments, Faculty members and ME Department students were attended the program. The program was coordinated by Mr.Ganesh R Kalagi and Mr.Pavan Kumara Asst. professors of Mechanical Engineering Dept SMVITM.
