An exhibition of engineering projects designed and developed by the third out-going batch of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi was held on 19 May 2016. The farewell program for the students was organised at the institute on 21 May 2016.
The exhibition was organised separately for the students of the Civil Engineering, Computer science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments at the institute. Mr. Rathnakumar, Secretary of the Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Udupi, who presided over the farewell function, presented the best projects awards to the members of the project teams.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ratnakumar thanked the students for the faith and trust they reposed in the institute and said that the institute had been able to place more than 70 percent of the eligible students in its sixth year of its inception, which was not a mean achievement compared to the well-established institutes in the region. He requested all the students to keep in touch with each other and the institute.
Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal while addressing the students, said that they should take up whatever job came their way and regularly update their skill sets as engineers in order to survive in a highly competitive job market. He thanked all the students for the cooperation they had extended to the administration during their stay at the institute and wished them well in their future careers.
A few students who recalled their days at SMVITM since getting admitted to the institute, gratefully acknowledged the care and concern the institute had always showed in getting their problems solved right from the beginning.
Dr. Ganesha A, Dean (Academics) welcomed the gathering. Mr. Rajesh Nayak announced the names of project exhibition winners. Mr. Ramachandra B. N. and Ms. Sahana Karanth, Assistant Professors with the Department of Computer science & Engineering presented a report on the project exhibition and proposed the vote of thanks respectively.
