GROUP EVENTS
1. Indian Group Dance
- Participants: Minimum 6; Maximum 10
- Duration: 5 + 2 minutes.
- Type: Classical, Semi classical, Folk.
- Costume: Should be decent.
- Music should be submitted in a CD/ Pen-drive at least two hours before the commencement of the competition to the organizers.
- Criteria for Judgement: Team work, Rapport Building, Synchronization, Stage Creations, Choreography, Costumes and Confidence.
2. Western Group Dance
- Participants: Minimum 6; Maximum 10.
- Duration: 5 + 2 minutes
- Type: Any pure form of western dances like Hip hop, Jazz, Filmy, Freestyle etc.
- Costume: Should be decent.
- Music should be submitted in a CD/ Pen drive at least two hours before the commencement of the competition to the organizers.
- Props are allowed.
- Criteria for Judgement: Team work, Rapport Building, Synchronization, Stage Creations, Choreography, Costumes, and Confidence.
3. Mime
- Minimum 6; Maximum 10
- Duration: 5 + 1 minutes
- The participant should announce the theme well in advance.
- Make-up is compulsory.
- Criteria for Judgement: Idea, Creativity, Presentation, Make-up, Music and General Impression.
4. Instrumental Music
- Minimum 4; Maximum 7
- Electric instruments are allowed.
- Duration: 15 minutes (Set up time: 5 min + Performance time: 10 min)
- Participants should bring their own instruments, no instruments will provided by the organizers.
- Criteria for Judgement: Voice, Instruments, Tightness, Synchronization, Choice of song and Synchronization.
5. Duet singing (Devotional)
- Combination of Participants: Male & Male/ Male & Female/ Female & Female.
- Duration: 3 + 1 minutes.
- Karaoke is allowed.
- Criteria for Judgement: Shruthi, Swara, Tala, Raga, Laya, Selection of composition and General Impression.
SOLO EVENTS
6. Solo Singing (Indian)
- Duration: 5 +1 Minutes (including settings).
- The rendition can be either Hindustani or Carnatic.
- Musical Instruments or Karaoke is allowed but will not be considered as a judgment criterion.
- Participants are allowed to bring only Shruthi box.
- Criteria for Judgement: Shruthi, Swara, Tala, Raga, Laya, Selection of Composition and General Impression.
7. Solo Singing (Western)
- Duration: 3 +1 Minutes (including settings).
- Participants are allowed to use any kind of musical instruments.
- Participants are allowed to use karaoke.
8. Solo dance (Indian)
- Duration: 6 +1 Minutes (including settings).
- Type: Classical, Semi classical, Folk.
- Costume: Should be decent.
- Music should be submitted in a CD/ Pen drive at least two hour before the commencement of the competition to the organizers.
- No hazardous stage props allowed.
- Judgment criteria: Technique, Grace, Confidence, Expression, Stage Presence.
OFF-STAGE SOLO EVENTS
9. Event Photography
- Photos to be taken covering Varnothsava 2014
- Date of the event: 03.03.2014.
- All Photos taken should be submitted before 6.00 PM on the same day.
- The photos should be original. No editing is allowed.
- Obscene or offensive photos will be rejected.
- Participants should bring their own DSLR cameras
- Specific instructions will be given on the spot.
10. Rangoli
- Duration: 2hours.
- Participants should bring their own materials.
- No usage of ready-made designs and/or chalks.
- The participants shall have to prepare a Rangoli within the space provided.
- Judgment Criteria: Color Combination, Area Covered, Neatness, Decoration, Completion.
11. Face Painting
- Topic will be given on the spot.
- Duration: 2 hours.
- Painting can be done using oil/water/poster colors.
- Participants should bring their own materials.
- Judgment Criteria: Creativity, Color Combination, Neatness, Theme, Completion.
