Voices for the Planet: SMVITM Leads Earth Day Rally in Udupi

On the occasion of World Earth Day, an awareness rally was organized in Udupi on April 25, 2026, with the objective of promoting environmental consciousness and sustainable practices among the public.

The rally commenced from Jodukatte and proceeded up to the Service Bus Stand, Udupi, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff members. The event was jointly organized by the NSS-YRC Unit, Extra-Curricular Department, and the Civil Department of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal.

More than 350 participants actively took part in the rally, demonstrating their commitment toward environmental protection. Students carried placards and raised slogans highlighting the importance of conserving natural resources, reducing pollution, and adopting eco-friendly lifestyles.

The rally aimed to create awareness about pressing environmental challenges and encourage collective responsibility among citizens for a sustainable future.

The program was graced by Dr. Radhakrishna S. Aithal, CEO of Sode Group of Institutions, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and participants. Principal Dr. Nagraj Bhat addressed the gathering and emphasized the crucial role of youth in safeguarding the environment.

Faculty members Mr. Sachin Prabhu, Dr. Deepika B.V., and Ms. Savitha Shenoy were also present and actively supported the initiative.

The rally concluded successfully at the Service Bus Stand, leaving a strong message on environmental responsibility among the public.
