From Campus to Corporate: ECE Students Gain Industry Insights from IBM Professional

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the Alumni Cell, SMVITM, organized a guest talk titled “From Campus to Corporate: Preparing for Professional Success” on 6 October 2026 at the Admin Block Seminar Hall.
The session was delivered by Mr. Bharath Shenoy, FinCrime Investigation & DA Specialist at IBM, Bengaluru, for 67 VII Semester ECE students. He shared valuable insights from his professional journey and discussed industry expectations, workplace ethics, communication, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, and continuous learning.
The session also covered career planning, recruitment processes, interview preparation, professional profile building, and workplace readiness. Through practical examples and an interactive discussion, students gained a better understanding of the skills and professional attitude required to successfully transition from campus to the corporate environment.
The session was held in the presence of Dr. Arun Upadhyaya, Head, Department of ECE, and was coordinated by Ms. Chandana, Assistant Professor, ECE. Ms. Shravya Thantry, VII Semester ECE student, served as the Master of Ceremonies.
The programme provided students with valuable industry exposure and motivated them to strengthen both their technical and professional competencies for a successful career.
