SMVITM students develop E-Voting-Secure Biometric Voting System

Students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering have successfully developed an innovative project titled “E-Voting System”, aimed at enhancing the security, transparency, and reliability of the voting process.

The project was developed by Satvik S. Bhat, Lolakshi, Manasi, and Prathiksha Patil under the guidance of Ms. Preethi M.

The system incorporates advanced biometric authentication technologies, including face recognition and iris detection, to verify voters before they cast their votes. By ensuring that each voter can vote only once, the system effectively minimizes the risk of duplication and fraudulent voting.

A key feature of the project is its ability to operate in an offline environment, making it suitable for deployment in remote and connectivity-challenged regions. The system also provides secure vote storage, real-time result visualization, and a comprehensive audit log to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the election process.

This project demonstrates how emerging technologies can be leveraged to create a secure, efficient, and trustworthy voting system, contributing to the advancement of digital governance and electoral integrity.
