The NSS-YRC Unit and NCC Unit of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, celebrated World Environment Day at SVH High School, Innanje, with a series of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainable living.
As part of the celebration, fruit-bearing saplings were planted across the school campus to encourage greenery and environmental conservation. To ensure the long-term care of the plants, each class was entrusted with the responsibility of nurturing the saplings, fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among students.
In an effort to promote eco-friendly practices, environmentally sustainable pencils were distributed to all students. The initiative highlighted the importance of adopting small yet impactful measures to protect the environment and reduce waste.
The programme was graced by Dr. Sudharshan Rao, Dean of SMVITM, along with Mr. Sachin Prabhu, Dr. Vignesh Shenoy, Mr. Rajendra Prabhu, and Mr. Natraj Upadhyaya, who encouraged students to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 150 students and teachers, reflecting a shared commitment towards building a greener and more sustainable future. The programme successfully reinforced the message of environmental responsibility and inspired young minds to contribute positively towards protecting nature.
