Promoting Engineering Excellence: ASME Student Section Inaugurated

The inauguration of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Student Section and installation of its office bearers was held on April 11, 2026, marking a significant milestone. The program commenced with traditional lamp lighting by the Chief Guest Sathyashankara Sharma, Senior Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, MIT Manipal, along with Nagaraj Bhat. The event was presided over by Radhakrishna S Aithal.

The ceremony featured the unveiling of the ASME Student Section banner, followed by the oath-taking of newly elected office bearers and members, administered by the Faculty Advisor Sudhir. In his keynote address, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset and encouraged students to actively engage with professional bodies like ASME to enhance their technical and professional growth.

The program also included inspiring messages highlighting the importance of global exposure, collaboration, and technical excellence. Raja Yateesh Yadav welcomed the gathering, Manjunatha S delivered the invocation, Ananth Mohan Mallya compered the event, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Sudhir, making the program a formal and memorable occasion.
