The ATL School Support Activity titled “Designing IoT Solutions with Arduino” was successfully conducted at the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL), Government PU College High School Section, Bailur, by students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal.
The activity aimed to introduce school students to the fundamentals of the Internet of Things (IoT) and provide practical exposure to embedded systems and real-world technological applications through an engaging hands-on learning experience. Participants were introduced to Arduino boards, basic programming concepts, component interfacing, and input-output operations.
As part of the session, working project models including a Line Follower Robot and sensor-based robotic systems were demonstrated to help students understand the practical implementation of IoT and embedded technologies. The demonstrations generated considerable enthusiasm among the participants and effectively bridged the gap between theoretical concepts and real-world applications.
The programme was organized by the ATL Support Cell of SMVITM in association with the IEEE SIGHT SMVITM Student Branch. The session was conducted by student mentors Ashish Naik, Manvith M. P., Raveesha Padmashali, Aditya Acharya, and Aditya M. R., students of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, under the guidance of Mr. Sandeep Prabhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SMVITM, Bantakal.
The activity provided students with a foundational understanding of IoT and embedded systems while fostering curiosity, creativity, and practical problem-solving skills. The enthusiastic participation of students and the effectiveness of the hands-on learning approach contributed significantly to the success of the programme.
The Headmaster, faculty members, and staff of Government PU College High School Section, Bailur, extended their wholehearted support and cooperation for the successful conduct of the event.
