The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, in association with the Women Empowerment Cell, organized a hands-on workshop on “AI Coding with Natural Language (NLD)” on April 24, 2026, at the F103 Lab, F Block. The session was conducted by Vidisha Shet and Niveditha Bhat, both serving as Staff Solution Engineers at Oracle, Bengaluru. The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from around 53 third-year girl students from CSE, AI-ML, and AI-DS.
The session introduced the concept of AI coding using natural language, often referred to as “vibe coding,” and covered key areas such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs). Participants gained hands-on experience using Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot, where they developed mini-projects like a CGPA calculator, demonstrating real-time AI-assisted coding capabilities.
The speakers also explained the fundamentals of neural networks and transformer architecture, along with insights into platforms such as OpenAI GPT and Meta LLaMA, including token limitations. The session emphasized the importance of strong programming fundamentals and well-structured prompt writing to effectively leverage AI tools, making it an insightful and practical learning experience for all participants.
