The Department of Business Administration at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management organized a one-day Industrial Visit to Mangalore–Puttur on 25th April 2026, offering students valuable experiential learning opportunities and practical exposure to manufacturing, business operations, marketing, and industrial management practices. The visit enabled students to bridge theoretical management concepts with real-world industrial functioning.
A total of 27 first-year MBA students accompanied by two faculty members participated in the industrial visit, during which they explored three different organizations to gain insights into diverse sectors and operational practices.
The first visit was to the CAMPCO Chocolate Factory, where students attended an informative business presentation introducing the company’s history, growth, operational framework, and market presence. This was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, enabling students to engage directly with industry professionals. Students later toured the production facility and observed the complete chocolate manufacturing process — from cocoa beans to finished products — gaining practical insights into production workflows, quality control, and industrial efficiency. The visit concluded with the distribution of sample chocolates, making the learning experience both informative and engaging.
The second visit was to Master Plannery, Puttur, where staff members explained the precast production process, showcased finished products, and provided students with insights into sales strategies, marketing approaches, workforce management, and labour incentive systems. Students also toured the production facility and participated in discussions to better understand industrial planning and operational efficiency.
The final visit was to the Bonda Factory / Naturals Ice Cream outlet at Adyar, Mangalore, where students learned about ice cream production using natural ingredients, quality assurance methods, and storage practices through an informative video presentation. The experience concluded with an interactive tasting session, giving students practical exposure to consumer product manufacturing and branding in the food industry.
Overall, the industrial visit served as a highly informative and engaging learning experience, providing students with firsthand exposure to industrial processes, operational strategies, manufacturing practices, and marketing techniques across different sectors, thereby enriching their practical understanding of business management.
