Advanced Excel for Finance: Tools, Automation, and Financial Modelling

The Department of Business Administration, SMVITM, organized a session on “Advanced Excel for Finance: Tools, Automation, and Financial Modelling” for I Year MBA students on 20th July 2026. The session was conducted by Dr. Abhay Kumar Kepulaje, who introduced participants to the applications of Microsoft Excel in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and decision-making. Students learned key financial concepts such as Present Value (PV), Future Value (FV), single cash flow, annuities, and loan amortization through practical Excel-based demonstrations.
The session also provided an overview of financial modelling for forecasting, investment analysis, and business planning, enabling students to understand the practical use of Excel in finance. An interactive doubt clarification session concluded the program, making it an engaging learning experience that enhanced participants’ analytical skills and practical knowledge of financial tools.
