AI & DS Students Present Research at International Conference ICIEM 2026

Under the guidance of Ms. Megha Rani R, Assistant Professor (Senior), Department of AI-ML, final year students of AI & DS from SMVITM successfully presented their research paper at the 4th International Conference on Innovation in Engineering & Management (ICIEM’26) held at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (Ranchi), Noida Campus.

The student team comprising Prathvi V Suvarna, Kevin Mendonca, Ashmith Praveen Kumar, and K Vivek Kamath presented their paper titled “Explainable AI for Pneumonia Diagnosis: Enhancing Trust in CNN Predictions with Visual Interpretability” during the conference conducted on 19–20 March 2026 (Hybrid Mode).

The research focuses on improving transparency and trust in AI-based medical diagnosis by integrating explainable AI techniques with deep learning models.

The students were also awarded Presentation Certificates in recognition of their successful participation.

This achievement reflects the students’ strong research capabilities and the department’s commitment to advancing innovation in emerging technologies.
