VTU Mangaluru Zone Handball Tournament(Men) Held at SMVITM, Bantakal

The intercollegiate Mangaluru zone handball tournament 2018-19 for men was held on 02 April 2019 at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management, Bantakal.

Mr. Seetharam Gowda, Secretary of Handball Association, Udupi District was the chief guest of inauguration ceremony.  Inaugurating the event, he gave an overview on the game of handball and congratulated the college management for organizing university level sports. He appealed students to participate in sports and games for the overall development of once personality.

Shri Rathnakumar, Secretary of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), Udupi, presided over the inaugural function. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat, Principal of the institute, Mr. Ganesh Poojary, Zonal Director, VTU, Mr. Sreenivasa B M, Physical Education Director were present on the dias. HODs of various departments, faculty and staff members were present during the function.

Total 6 team from Various Engineering College of Mangalore zone affiliated to VTU participated in the tournament. NMAMIT, Nitte won the first place and the host college SMVITM, Bantakal secured the second place. Student of SMVITM, Sanjay Bhandari won the best Player and student of NMAMIT, Nitte Sangam S Rao won the Best goal keeper of the match.

Mr. Sanjay Bhandari welcomed the gathering and Mr. Sachin Prabhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Karthik, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering compered the program.
