Eco Club in association with Sthapati, Department of Civil Engineering of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management organized a talk on “Are Humans modern activities a cause of water
Scarcity” in connection with World Water Day on 22 March 2021.
Mr. Joseph G M Rebello, District resource person for water conservation, Udupi spoke about the current issues with water that the entire world is facing and the methods adopted by some countries in conserving water for the future. He also gave examples about certain villages in India where they had made a change in the entire system to conserve water in draught-affected areas. He also pointed out the various human
activities which eventually lead to the scarcity of water.
Principal Prof. Dr. Thirumaleshwara Bhat explained the significance of the World water day celebration, its theme, and the role of youth in the conservation of water.
